Mrs. Stein is a Legal Nurse Consultant with more than 25 years of experience providing support to attorneys by performing critical analysis of complex medical/legal issues. She possesses specialized education and clinical expertise invaluable in the evaluation and management of claims. Mrs. Stein meets with each of the firm’s prospective clients along with the attorneys to screen cases for merit, determine applicable standards of care and evaluate the care provided to the client.  Mrs. Stein is primarily responsible for requesting, obtaining and interpreting each client’s medical records, following up with the clients regarding any continuing care records.  In addition, because of her decades-long relationships with physicians around the country, Mrs. Stein regularly speaks with and retains medical experts to review and offer opinions regarding whether the defendant physician acted negligently and/or whether his/her actions caused injury to our client.  Finally, Mrs. Stein conducts and obtains relevant research, assesses damages and injuries of our clients and provides assistance from the inception of cases through trial.

Professional History

After practicing nursing at New York University Medical Center, Mrs. Stein became involved in the analysis, preparation and litigation of medical malpractice cases for a large New York based defense firm. Her prior experience defending medical negligence cases gives her a unique perspective. After moving to Maryland she became involved in catastrophic injury and complex medical malpractice cases for several Maryland firms representing plaintiffs. Mrs. Stein has a history of direct involvement in some of the largest settlements and verdicts for catastrophic injury cases in the Maryland and Washington D.C. areas.
