Craig L. Zissel is an associate in the law firm of Silverman Thompson Slutkin & White, a Baltimore-Washington boutique litigation firm. Prior to joining STSW, Mr. Zissel gained valuable experience as an insurance defense attorney defending individuals and corporate defendants in complex civil litigation and medical malpractice matters. After joining STSW in 2008, Mr. Zissel has centered his practice on the representation of injured parties in auto negligence, premises liability, medical malpractice, wrongful death and other catastrophic injury cases.
During his career, Mr. Zissel has been instrumental in the successful resolution of hundreds of personal injury cases. Mr. Zissel has been able use his experience as a defense attorney to his advantage as a successful plaintiff's attorney. He regularly tries cases all over the state of Maryland and has an admirable track record with difficult cases.
Mr. Zissel has been recognized as one of Maryland's "Rising Stars" by the national "Super Lawyers" publication in 2012 and 2013. "Super Lawyers" defines "Rising Stars" as the best attorneys who are age 40 and under in Maryland, and represents only 2.5% of the eligible practicing attorneys in the state. The selection process involves peer review as thousands of ballots are mailed out to Maryland lawyers who have been in practice 5 years or more and they are asked to nominate the best attorneys they have observed in action.
National Trial Lawyers
In 2012 and 2013, Mr. Zissel was recognized by the National Trial Lawyers as one of Maryland’s “Top 40 Under 40” recipients. This honorable designation identifies lawyers under 40 years of age who have and continue to exemplify superior trial skills, communication skills, case results and leadership as a young trial lawyer. According to the association, “selection is based on a thorough and multi-phase process which includes peer nominations combined with third party research. The result is a credible, comprehensive and impressive list of young attorneys chosen to represent their state.”
