Nursing Home Malpractice and Neglect

Two Congressional Committees have announced that they will investigate the business practices of a number of privately held nursing homes. The purchase and management of nursing homes by private equity investors has come under fire in recent months from Congress to labor unions.

The congressional inquiry comes, in part, as a response to concerns that privately held nursing homes are experiencing high levels of medical malpractice, abuse and neglect.
