Jamison G. White is a partner in the law firm of Silverman Thompson Slutkin & White, a Baltimore-Washington boutique litigation firm. Prior to joining STSW, Mr. White gained extensive experience defending hospitals, physicians and major product manufacturers in both medical malpractice and product liability matters. Since joining STSW, Mr. White has devoted his professional practice to complex civil litigation matters primarily representing injured parties in medical malpractice cases, catastrophic injury cases, wrongful death cases, burn injury cases, product liability cases and major automobile cases.
Since joining STSW, Mr. White has an extensive track record of obtaining million dollar plus verdicts and settlements for his clients, including some of the largest settlements in the Maryland and Washington D.C. areas. A sample of some of these settlements is set forth below:*
Firm Recovers Record $5 Million for Family
STSW Recovers $4M on Behalf of Disabled Father of Three Children
Firm Settles Medical Malpractice Case for $3.5 Million
Firm Recovers Over $1.5 Million for Family
STSW Recovers $1.15 Million on Behalf of Injured Child
Firm Settles Two Significant Wrongful Death Cases
Mr. White has been recognized as one of Maryland’s “Rising Stars” by the national “Super Lawyers” publication for five consecutive years from 2009-2013. “Super Lawyers” defines “Rising Stars” as the best attorneys who are age 40 and under in Maryland, and represents only 2.5% of the eligible practicing lawyers in the state. The selection process involves peer review as thousands of ballots are mailed out to Maryland lawyers who have been in practice for five years or more and they are asked to nominate the best attorneys they have observed in action. The factors considered in evaluating lawyers for this prestigious honor include settlements and verdicts, honors and awards and legal writings.
National Trial Lawyers
In 2012, Mr. White was also recognized by the National Trial Lawyers as one of Maryland’s “Top 40 Under 40” recipients. The “Top 40 Under 40” identifies lawyers that exemplify superior trial results, qualifications and leadership as a young trial lawyer. According to the association, “selection is based on a thorough multi-phase process which includes peer nominations combined with third party research. The result is a credible, comprehensive and impressive list of young attorneys chosen to represent their state.”
Mr. White is the author of the published article, “No Where To Run, No Where To Hide: Augusto Pinochet, Universal Jurisdiction, the ICC and a Wake-Up Call For Former Heads-of-State", which was published in Volume 50 (Winter 1999) of the Case Western Reserve University Law Review.
* The case results above provide current and perspective clients with a sampling of the breadth of cases that Mr. White has personally litigated. Each case is different and the past record is no assurance that the lawyer will be successful in reaching a favorable result in any future case.
